Big Bots And I Need to Gattai

The HG(High Grade) Gundam Tryon 3 Gunpla Model Kit from the Gundam is a love letter to the classic giant robot genre. Shown in the Gundam spinoff show Gundam Build Fighters Try this Gunpla is based off of the ZZ Gundam, and it's bulky aesthetic fits with the super giant robots look it was going for, and the colors of a primary blue with white, red, and yellow accents give it a unique color scheme without feeling out of place with the Gundam universe similar to the Gundam Maxter.

As per usual Gunpla, the assembly process is the standard snap together system and assembly is very simple. Though this model kit comes with extra parts, and by looking at them they are meant for converting the Tryon into a regular ZZ model kit. Posability on this kit is not as flexible, but only because of its bulky nature. The joints are stiff enough to pose and hold up his humongous sword, but not hard to move so it doesn't make you cautious not to break it, and although I am against stickers and prefer to paint over it, it comes with a set, and applying them would show you why because some of the stickers look cheap and are prone to fall off after some time like most Gunpla model kits.  Just like every other HG Gunpla kit the size of this lad is a 1/144 scale and stands at 5 1/2 inches, the standard height for most normal gunpla model kits, so the price tag seems a bit expensive, but and a big BUT the money goes into its gimmick.

Not only is the Gundam Tryon 3 a tribute to classic giant robots by it's blocky looks and highly contrast color scheme, but its main separation transformation feature sucks your money into Bandai's bank account. After separating and transforming the torso, legs, and backpack, you get the Stingray, Eagle, and Lion robots. These robots look amazing, and the you can tell wich part goes to what when you configure them back into the main robot. The only real gripe I have with these is that instead of some parts coming out of cavities to hide in extra accesories have to be put on to actually achieve the look of the stingray and especially the eagle head, but its still a 50/50 because the parts forming does reduce kibble, or pieces of the figure pre-transformation showing, and having to store those extra pieces when not in use.

Its a pretty good HG kit too have and it's price is worth the extra gimmick, you should get this figure if you love Gundam and classic giant robot shows, especially the classics like Shogun Warriors and Voltron. Its standard flat colors can be detailed by simple panel lining and and the stickers aren't needed if you're willing to give it some paint, and speaking of paint because it has the classic "Obari Style" you can change the colors to look like a similar lion chested combing robot.
